AI-171 Crash Probe Will Be Transparent, Not Media-Driven: Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu Defends Investigation in Lok Sabha

New Delhi: Union Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu Kinjarapu, addressing the Lok Sabha on Monday, emphasized that the investigation into the tragic crash of AI-171 is being conducted with full transparency and adherence to facts. He firmly dismissed the speculative narratives being floated by sections of both Indian and Western media.

Kinjarapu stated, “The Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB) is carrying out the investigation in a transparent manner. I have seen multiple articles not only by the Indian media but also by the Western media trying to promote their own viewpoint. The way we are seeing the investigation is through facts. We want to stand by the truth. And that will only be revealed when the investigation is complete.”

The minister’s remarks come amid growing scrutiny of the AI-171 crash and conflicting media reports. While some outlets have hinted at technical negligence or operational errors, the government has reiterated that it will not draw premature conclusions. The AAIB is expected to table a preliminary report in the coming weeks.

Kinjarapu also assured the House that all international protocols for aviation safety investigations are being followed, and the Indian government will not compromise on accuracy or fairness in establishing the cause of the crash.
