Srinagar: A delegation of Jammu and Kashmir Plus 2 Lectures Forum under the presidentship of General Secretary Mir Fayaz, held a meeting with Principal Secretary Education Alok Kumar (IRS) at his office chamber on October 3. The delegation held a threadbare discussion regarding New Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and various burning issues.
The delegation emphasised that before implementation of the New Education Policy, the administration must upgrade the infrastructure and fill all the vacant posts of Principal’s, Lecturers, Headmasters, as in NEP cluster heads have to play vital role in teaching learning process. Regularization of incharge lecturers, ACP, non-vocational status of principal’s was also discussed.
Moreover the delegation apprised the principal secretary that some higher secondary schools established in early 1960’s and 1970’s, where earlier the rollcall was less than100, but in present times the rollcall of those institutions have increased 20 time’s. However, the posts have not been upgraded as per PTR, which is injustice to students and creates learning gap among the students.
Regarding the 80:20 ratio about promotion of senior lecturers, the principal secretary agreed for its rectification if needed and the issue will be reviewed very soon. Naseer Ahmed Wani, Special Secretary and OSD were also present in the meeting.
The delegation comprised of Mushtaq Ahmad VP, Javid Iqbal DP Pulwama, Nazir.A Khan DP Kupwara, Sayed Khursheed Ahmad VP Badgam, Shah M. Iqbal spokesman and Nissar Ahmad.
The forum thanked the principal secretary for giving a patient hearing and assurance of redressal of all issues discussed in the meeting.
