ABOUT THENEWS21

TheNews21 is an independent digital newsroom shaped by the belief that journalism must serve the people — not power. Founded and led by senior investigative journalist Vivek Bhavsar, TheNews21 has emerged as a credible national platform committed to public-interest journalism, accountability, and fearless reporting.

Based in Mumbai, we bring clarity to India’s political and governance landscape. Our journalism decodes public policy, investigates corruption, and tells stories that matter to citizens. We cover national politics, bureaucracy, economy, infrastructure, foreign affairs, crime, civic issues, sports, culture, and the evolving digital world — always with accuracy, context, and depth.

Our Identity

TheNews21 is the flagship English platform of Kalpak Digital Media LLP, a registered MSME and MCA-certified media company headquartered in Maharashtra.

Our sister platforms include:

TheRajkaran.com — a dedicated Marathi political news portal focused on Maharashtra’s governance, elections, and power shifts.

Maharashtra.city — a Marathi–English hybrid portal covering civic life, entertainment, youth culture, and public issues.

Together, these platforms reflect our commitment to building a transparent, multi-platform, people-centric media ecosystem.

Our Mission

Our guiding principle is simple and uncompromising:

No Fear. No Favour. Only Facts.

We do not promote any political ideology.
We do not engage in paid news.
We do not accept donations or funding from political parties, politicians, or lobby groups.

Our journalism is sustained by reader donations, public support, and honest subscription-driven revenue. This ensures our newsroom remains independent, free from interference, and loyal only to the truth.

Our Work & Impact

TheNews21 is recognised for its investigative depth and editorial integrity.

In 2020, our investigative series on China’s alleged violations of the Biological Weapons Convention (BWC) during the Covid-19 outbreak drew global attention. Based on our reporting, US attorney Larry Klayman and two other plaintiffs filed a USD 20 trillion civil lawsuit in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Texas, alleging violations of UN biological weapons treaties and multiple US laws. A counter-lawsuit filed in China underlined the global ripple effect of this journalism.

Across Maharashtra, our investigations — ranging from MIDC land allocations and infrastructure tendering to governance failures, SRA reforms, and public spending — have shaped public discourse and, in several cases, influenced administrative action. We believe journalism must not only reveal the truth but also push systems toward transparency and fairness.

What We Stand For

At TheNews21, journalism is a public responsibility — a tool to protect democracy, empower citizens, and hold the powerful accountable.

Every story we publish is driven by courage, evidence, public interest, a commitment to constitutional values, and deep respect for the reader’s trust.

Our Vision

To build India’s most credible independent media network rooted in ethics, investigation, public accountability, and global relevance.
To mentor young journalists, amplify citizen voices, document governance truthfully, and set a benchmark for transparent digital journalism.
