Tejashwi Yadav Demands Urgent Discussion on Voter Rights, Vows to Defend Bihar’s Democratic Legacy

Patna: Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav made a powerful statement during the opening day of the Bihar Assembly session, calling for an immediate and focused discussion on the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls.

Speaking to reporters at the Vidhan Sabha, Tejashwi emphasized, “Our demand is clear—there must be a debate in the Legislative Assembly on the SIR process. Bihar is the cradle of democracy, and we will not remain silent if anyone attempts to dismantle it.”

Raising serious concerns over reports of voter list manipulation and the potential disenfranchisement of the poor and marginalized communities, the former Deputy Chief Minister warned, “We will fight this battle to protect our people’s voting rights. We won’t allow their identity or their existence to be erased.”
