Indian Army organises Shaan-e-Varmul award ceremony in Baramulla

Srinagar: Baramulla witnessed an unprecedented celebration of excellence and community service with the “Shaan-e-Varmul” award ceremony, held at Thimayya Hall on January 15. The event, organised by the Dagger Division of the Chinar Corps as part of Army Day celebrations, brought together dignitaries, achievers, and citizens to honour individuals who have made remarkable contributions to the district across various fields.

The awardees were meticulously selected through a rigorous nomination and voting process, facilitated by the civil society of Baramulla. An esteemed panel of experts conducted thorough verifications to finalise recipients in ten key categories. The event showcased the spirit of unity and community engagement that defines Baramulla, highlighting the pivotal role of these efforts in fostering growth and development.

The chief guest expressed deep admiration for the awardees, commending their relentless dedication and selfless service. Their contributions, he noted, serve as a source of inspiration for future generations and exemplify the essence of community spirit and resilience.

The “Shaan-e-Varmul” initiative, as described during the event, seeks to recognise and celebrate the outstanding contributions of individuals who have positively impacted Baramulla. In addition to the awards, the GOC Chinar Corps paid tribute to veterans, Veer Matas, and Veer Naris at General Bipin Rawat Stadium in Baramulla.
