Stand-up comedian Pranit More has alleged that he was assaulted by a group of 10-15 men after making a joke about Bollywood actor Veer Pahariya, who recently debuted alongside Akshay Kumar in Sky Force. Following Pranit’s revelations, Veer Pahariya denied any involvement in the attack and condemned the violence.
Pranit, known for his Marathi and Hindi stand-up performances, took to Instagram on February 4 to share details of the shocking incident. His team claimed that after a show in Solapur on February 2, a group of men disguised as fans approached him and physically assaulted him. The alleged attackers, led by a man named Tanveer Shaikh, reportedly warned him against making jokes about Veer Pahariya again. One of them allegedly said, “Agli baar Veer Pahariya Baba pe joke maarke dikha.”
The comedian’s post further stated that the venue lacked security, and access to CCTV footage was being denied. His team also claimed that their attempts to seek police assistance had been unsuccessful.
Following the viral post, Veer Pahariya issued a statement expressing shock and sadness over the incident. He distanced himself from the attack, stating, “I had no involvement in this, and I strongly condemn any form of violence.” He also assured Pranit and his fans that he would personally ensure those responsible are held accountable.
Veer Pahariya, the grandson of former Maharashtra Chief Minister Sushilkumar Shinde, made his Bollywood debut with Sky Force and previously worked as an assistant director on Bhediya (2022). The incident has sparked discussions on freedom of expression in comedy and celebrity influence.
