As Assam continues to battle one of its worst flood situations in recent years, actor Salman Khan has reportedly stepped forward to support affected families by launching relief efforts through his charitable organisation, Being Human. The initiative comes amid growing appeals from public figures urging people to contribute to rehabilitation efforts in the flood-hit state.
According to reports, Salman Khan has partnered with one of his fan clubs to coordinate relief operations across affected districts. The campaign is expected to be carried out in multiple phases, beginning with the distribution of food packets and essential supplies to displaced families.
Sources quoted in media reports said the next stages of the initiative will include the distribution of ration kits, temporary shelter assistance, and support for rebuilding schools and hospitals damaged by the floods.
The reported humanitarian effort has drawn attention as only a handful of Bollywood personalities have publicly responded to the crisis so far.
Among them, actor Alia Bhatt appealed to citizens to extend support to flood victims through an emotional message shared on social media. Highlighting the scale of the disaster, she wrote:”Right now, floods are affecting so many parts of our country, with Assam being among the hardest hit, facing an incredibly challenging time. More than 60 lives have been lost. Lakhs of people have been displaced. Entire families have lost their homes, their land, their livestock… and for some, even the people they love. It happens every year, and it still catches us off guard. Assam needs immediate relief right now, and it’ll need support for the long road to recovery.”
She also said she would share verified ways through which people could contribute to relief and rehabilitation efforts.
Actor Bhumi Pednekar was also among the first film personalities to raise awareness about the floods. She urged people to stand with Assam and encouraged donations and support for those affected by the disaster.
With large parts of the state still facing severe flooding, relief agencies continue to focus on rescue operations, food distribution and rehabilitation. The reported involvement of Salman Khan’s Being Human Foundation is expected to add momentum to ongoing humanitarian efforts, while appeals from celebrities are encouraging wider public participation in supporting flood-affected communities.
