New Delhi: Polling for the Delhi Assembly Elections 2025 is underway, with a voter turnout of 19.95% recorded by 11 AM on Wednesday, according to the Election Commission of India (ECI). The elections, being held in a single phase, saw a slow start in the initial hours but witnessed an increase in voter participation as the morning progressed.
North East Delhi Leads in Turnout
Among all districts in the national capital, North East Delhi recorded the highest voter turnout at 24.87%, followed closely by Shahdara at 23.30%. On the other hand, Central Delhi had the lowest turnout at 16.46%.

- South West Delhi – 21.90%
- East Delhi – 20.03%
- North Delhi – 18.63%
- North West Delhi – 19.75%

- New Delhi – 16.80%
- Central Delhi – 16.46%
Bypolls in Milkipur and Erode (East) Witness High Turnout
Meanwhile, Milkipur Assembly constituency in Uttar Pradesh recorded a 29.86% turnout, while Erode (East) constituency in Tamil Nadu saw a turnout of 26.03% in the ongoing bypolls.
Polling across all 70 assembly seats in Delhi, along with bypolls in Tamil Nadu and Uttar Pradesh, began at 7 AM and will continue till 6 PM. Voters are casting their ballots under tight security arrangements to ensure a smooth electoral process.
With voting in full swing, all eyes are now on the overall turnout and the impact it may have on the final outcome of the Delhi Assembly Elections 2025.
