State BJP Vice President Madhav Bhandari called for Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray to clarify his position concerning the unintended support his actions might have provided to Pakistan. This comes after Saudi Aramco chose Gwadar as the site for their plant. Bhandari made these remarks during a press conference held at the state party headquarters on Wednesday.
Bhandari emphasized that the recently published white paper by the state government, detailing industrial projects that relocated outside of Maharashtra, had brought several revelations to light. He stressed that Thackeray needs to address the questions that have arisen from the findings of the white paper.
“The white paper has exposed how these projects were already inclined to leave Maharashtra during the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government led by Uddhav Thackeray. Therefore, he should clarify his stance on the information brought forth by the white paper,” Bhandari stated.
Bhandari accused the MVA government of being involved in significant corruption and further urged Thackeray to disclose the specific demands made to investors in projects like Foxconn, Airbus, Saffron, and Bulk Drug that led to their departure from the state.
“The fact that Uddhav Thackeray has remained silent on this matter, even after the white paper was released almost a week ago, indicates the possible reasons behind the exodus of these projects from Maharashtra,” Bhandari commented.
Highlighting the contrast between the Maha Yuti administration’s transparent and efficient work culture, Bhandari argued that the industry has begun to return to the state. He raised questions about the true motives behind opposing the greenfield refinery project at Nanar.
