Amidst the growing attention surrounding Congress MP Rahul Gandhi’s alleged ‘flying kiss’ incident in the Lok Sabha on Wednesday, BJP MP Hema Malini stated that she personally did not witness Gandhi making the gesture. Despite this, Malini is among the NDA women MPs who joined in signing a letter addressed to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, requesting stringent action against the Wayanad MP.
“I didn’t witness that myself, but there were certain remarks (by Gandhi) that were inappropriate,” Malini informed India Today when queried about her observation of the alleged flying kiss.
Nevertheless, Malini affixed her signature to the letter composed by NDA women MPs, urging Birla to address the issue of what they deemed an “indecent manner and inappropriate gesture” by Rahul Gandhi towards Union Minister Smriti Irani. In this letter, the MPs also accused Gandhi of undermining the dignity of women members within the House and called for decisive action to be taken against him.
