Suhani Bhatnagar, who gained fame for her role as young Babita Phogat in Aamir Khan’s blockbuster film “Dangal,” tragically passed away on Saturday morning at the tender age of 19. The cause of her untimely demise remains undisclosed.
Residing in Sector 17, Faridabad, Suhani’s final rites will be conducted at the Ajronda crematorium in Sector 15, Faridabad. Despite her young age, Suhani had left an indelible mark with her portrayal in the acclaimed movie.
While active on social media, particularly Instagram, Suhani’s last post dates back to November 2021, where she shared a series of sun-kissed selfies with the caption “November??”
During the promotional phase of “Dangal,” Suhani shared glimpses of her journey on Instagram. In one memorable post, she can be seen alongside director Nitesh Tiwari and co-stars Sanya Malhotra and Fatima Sana Shaikh, captioning it “Geeta babita Jr.babita and the director.”
In another post, she shared an in-flight moment with Aamir Khan and Shankar Mahadevan, capturing the camaraderie among the cast and crew of the film.
The impact of “Dangal” resonated deeply with audiences worldwide, chronicling the inspiring story of wrestler Mahavir Singh Phogat and his daughters Geeta and Babita Phogat. Suhani, alongside Zaira Wasim, played the younger version of Babita Phogat, showcasing the journey of the spirited athletes.
Following her stint in “Dangal,” Suhani opted to focus on her education, taking a hiatus from acting. The film, directed by Nitesh Tiwari and produced by Aamir Khan and Kiran Rao under Aamir Khan Productions, remains a poignant tribute to the resilience and determination of India’s female wrestlers.
