Gautam Buddha Nagar: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday defended his government’s economic record, asserting that opposition parties are spreading misinformation to hide their pre-2014 failures. Speaking at a public event, Modi highlighted the government’s efforts to boost incomes and savings of Indian citizens.
“…To hide their pre-2014 failures, Congress and its allies are lying to the people… We have increased the income and savings of the people of India… We are not going to stop here… As we continue to strengthen our economy, we will continue to reduce taxes. The process of GST reforms will go on continuously,” said PM Modi.
He further elaborated on the next phase of GST reforms, calling them structural changes designed to accelerate the country’s growth story.
“…The changes in GST are structural reforms that will give wings to the country’s growth story. GST registration will become easier, tax disputes will be fewer, and MSMEs will get speedy refunds,” he added.
