Mumbai: Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde on Wednesday emphasised the ongoing commitment of the state toward the Swachh Bharat Mission, calling sanitation workers the true heroes of the campaign.
“The Swachh Bharat Campaign is not a one-day process, it is a continuous process. Prime Minister Modi launched the Swachh Bharat Campaign from the Red Fort. We are taking it forward in the country… Our sanitation workers are our heroes,” said Shinde.
The Deputy CM highlighted Maharashtra’s active role in supporting the Prime Minister’s mission, stating:
“We are also running the Swachh Maharashtra Campaign. Maharashtra will make a significant contribution to the Prime Minister’s Swachh Bharat Mission…”.
