Thirty girl trainees in Retail Associate Training of Kawari, Kupwara visit retail outlets in Srinagar

Srinagar: Non-Government Organisation (NGO) REACHA and Indian Army in association with NGO TRRAIN (Trust for Retailers and Retail Associates of India) launched ‘TRRAIN Her Ascent’, an industry/ placement linked women’s empowerment project in Kawari, Kupwara (an Aspirational District), Jammu and Kashmir in February earlier this year.

The 45-day program is tech enabled retail training for 30 Girls. The students will be jointly certified by the NGOs and by RASCI (Retailers Association’s Skill Council of India). The first batch of 30 girls will be certified on April 4.

As a part of the training, a field trip to Srinagar retail outlets was organized on April 1 for these young women to give them an overview of the nuances involved in the retail jobs. The girls interacted with staff members of the retail outlets and returned motivated with a zeal to make a life for themselves.
