Mumbai: RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat unveiled the monumental ‘Arihant’ volumes of “Arya Yug Vishay Kosh” at a landmark event hosted by Gitarth Ganga in Mumbai, celebrating India’s timeless intellectual and spiritual legacy. The ceremony was graced by His Holiness Acharya Yugbhushan Suriji Maharaj Saheb, the 79th successor of Tirthankar Shree Mahavir, marking a historic moment in India’s cultural renaissance.

The ‘Arihant’ series forms part of Gitarth Ganga’s encyclopedic project, covering 108 core subjects and over 15,000 subtopics, honouring the scholarship of ancient Indian seers. For more than three decades, Ahmedabad-based Gitarth Ganga has worked to preserve, digitise, and globally disseminate India’s civilizational wisdom, reinforcing its cultural soft power and the eternal vision of “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam”—One World, One Family.

The event brought together leading figures from academia, business, and governance, including: Vijay Chauthaiwale, In-Charge, Department of Foreign Affairs, BJP, Dr Sachin Chaturvedi, Vice Chancellor, Nalanda University, Nimesh Kampani, Founder, JM Financial Group, Prithviraj Kothari, MD, Riddhisiddhi Bullion, Hitesh Doshi, Waaree Group, Jaxay Shah, CMD, Savvy Group & President, Quality Council of India, Sukhraj Nahar Seth, Nahar Group, Dr Bhaskar Shah, Cardiologist and Dineshbhai Shah, Manilakshmi Tirth Parivar

RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat lauded the initiative’s national significance, saying, “Five thousand years ago, our ancestors declared that preserving and sharing knowledge is the greatest service to the nation. This unparalleled treasure of scriptures frees us from a colonial mindset. Gitarth Ganga’s Arya Yug Kosh is an extraordinary endeavour — a true need of our time. I will personally support and promote this mission.”

His Holiness Acharya Yugbhushan Suriji Maharaj Saheb emphasised the importance of intellectual decolonisation, “Though physical freedom came 80 years ago, mental colonisation persists. This Sankraman Kaal (age of transition) offers an unprecedented opportunity to decolonise the Indian mind.”

He also critiqued the Western economic narrative, observing: “GDP is an illusory indicator of a nation’s true strength and well-being. We must evolve our own holistic measures of progress rooted in dharmic and cultural principles.”

In a landmark collaboration, Gitarth Ganga signed an MoU with Nalanda University (under the Ministry of External Affairs) to advance joint research and academic exchange in Indic Knowledge Systems. Dr Sachin Chaturvedi, Vice Chancellor, Nalanda University, stated, “Gitarth Ganga and Jyot are doing astonishing work that academia should have initiated long ago. Together, we will revive India’s Shastrarth (philosophical debate) tradition and introduce a 40-day Indic Wisdom Course to bridge ancient and modern education.”

Gitarth Ganga and Jyot also announced the Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam Ki Oar – Sankraman Kaal (VK4) Conclave, scheduled for January 16–22, 2026, in Mumbai.

The conclave will feature over 10 thematic sessions, 50 distinguished speakers, immersive exhibitions across 25,000 sq. ft., podcasts, and student competitions — all exploring how India’s “One World, One Family” philosophy can shape inclusive and ethical global governance.

Addressing the audience, Pandit Maharaj noted, “Freedom of speech today often protects the right to mislead or degrade. True freedom must align with moral and spiritual responsibility — not vulgarity or distortion.”
