Waje Rejects Defection Rumours Amid Growing Political Turmoil
As speculation over a possible split within Shiv Sena UBT continues to dominate Maharashtra politics, Nashik MP Rajabhau Waje has publicly reaffirmed his loyalty to party chief Uddhav Thackeray, seeking to put an end to rumours linking him to the ongoing rebellion buzz.
Arriving in Delhi on Wednesday, Waje dismissed reports suggesting he was in touch with rival camps and asserted that his political commitment remained firmly with the Uddhav-led faction.
“I am with Uddhav ji and will remain with him. I have no contacts with anyone else. I have not received any call, no contact has been established with me by Shinde ji. I am not upset, and I am with them (Shiv Sena-UBT). I have come here for a committee meeting,” he said.
UBT Leadership Goes Into High Alert
The statement comes at a crucial moment for Shiv Sena UBT, which is grappling with reports that several MPs may be considering a political realignment.
The party has called an important parliamentary meeting in Delhi and directed all MPs to attend. Senior leaders are treating the gathering as a test of unity as concerns over possible defections continue to mount.
Party insiders indicate that attendance at the meeting is being closely monitored and that disciplinary action could be considered against lawmakers who choose to stay away.
Legal Strategy Takes Centre Stage
Alongside political outreach, the Thackeray camp is also preparing a legal response to any attempt at forming a separate parliamentary bloc.
Sources suggest that party leaders are examining available constitutional and parliamentary options to challenge any move that could weaken the organisation’s position in Parliament.
The developments have prompted intense consultations among senior leaders, who are working to ensure the party remains united during the current political turbulence.
Rebel MP Reports Add to Uncertainty
The crisis escalated after reports emerged that multiple MPs from the Uddhav camp were allegedly in contact with the Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena.
These reports have fuelled speculation that a separate group could emerge within the parliamentary wing, potentially leading to another major political realignment in Maharashtra.
Although no formal announcement has been made, the rumours have triggered concern within the party and prompted a swift response from the leadership.
Senior Leaders Camp in Delhi
Top Shiv Sena UBT leaders, including Sanjay Raut, Arvind Sawant and Anil Desai, have intensified efforts to coordinate the party’s political strategy from the national capital.
The leadership is engaging with MPs, reviewing legal options and preparing for multiple scenarios as uncertainty continues to surround the party’s parliamentary strength.
Battle for Survival Enters Crucial Phase
With speculation refusing to die down, the upcoming parliamentary meeting is expected to play a decisive role in determining the immediate future of Shiv Sena UBT.
