Thane: Thanks to potholed roads and long traffic jams, many NEET students could only reach their faraway exam centers after an excruciating 4 hour journey. The parents alleged that school management did not provide any seating (arrangement) facility because they had to halt around 5 hours until the students finished their exams and came out. Many students were allotted exam centers which were far away from their place of residence.
Pooja Gupta, who is NEET aspiration, a resident of Bhiwandi said, “I should have got the exam centre under Thane district but I got a centre in Nalasopara which was a totally distant city and that too in another district. I was left home at about 9 am. I travelled by car to Nalasopara via Vasai road from Bhiwandi and reached the centre at around 12.05 pm due to several potholes on the roadway”.
Viresh Kumar Varma (45), father of a student speaking to thenews21 I along with my daughter left from Kalyan-Shilphata around 7 am (morning) by an auto and reached to the Thane bus depot where I took a bus to Nalasopara bus depot it took around 3 hours journey due to traffic and potholes on the way. The autorickshaw charged a fare of Rs 60 from Nalasopara bus depot to the exam centre. It took five hours for Viresh Kumar Varma and his daughter to reach the centre.

Aleem Khan, 31, who resides in Bhiwandi, brother of a student said, “I took an Ola (Car) from Bhiwandi at about 10 am to Nalasopara’s NEET exam centre. It was about 12.10 pm due to several potholes on the road. I have paid the fare of Rs 750.
The parent’s alleged that the School management did not provide any facility of seating to parents. They felt that they were waiting for around 5 hours outside the school until students left the centre.
Owing to seeing the preventing measures of safety during the coronavirus period, many students’ confidence has been down. They told thenews21, that some topics and revision could not be done due to the lockdown imposed in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic.-By Narendra Gupta
