Prime Minister Narendra Modi unleashed a scathing attack on the Congress party during a public meeting in Rajahmundry, Andhra Pradesh, condemning the party’s treatment of leaders who visit temples. The Prime Minister’s remarks come in the wake of Radhika Khera’s resignation from the Congress, alleging mistreatment by party members for visiting the Ram Temple in Ayodhya.
PM Modi seized the opportunity to criticize Congress’s decision not to attend the consecration ceremony of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, attributing it to what he termed as “appeasement politics.” He accused the party of boycotting the event due to its focus on appeasing certain groups.
In addition to targeting the Congress, PM Modi also directed his criticism towards the incumbent YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) government led by YS Jagan Mohan Reddy. He lamented the state’s alleged lack of progress under the YSRCP’s tenure, contrasting it with the developmental strides made during the tenure of former Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu.
Asserting the NDA’s commitment to development, PM Modi declared it as the only guarantee of progress for Andhra Pradesh and the nation as a whole. He highlighted instances where central projects were purportedly delayed and the welfare of the people compromised under the YSRCP administration.
PM Modi did not spare Congress leader Rahul Gandhi either, criticizing him for the party’s alleged involvement in financial impropriety. He referenced recent incidents, including the confiscation of a significant amount of money from the house of a Congress minister’s aide in Jharkhand, accusing the party of utilizing a domestic helper’s residence as a “godown for black money.”
Taking a stand against corruption, PM Modi asserted his commitment to returning the confiscated money to its rightful owners, emphasizing his concern for the welfare of the common people.
In his address, PM Modi highlighted India’s rapid progress on the pillars of “Reform, Perform, and Transform,” expressing optimism about the nation’s future trajectory. He urged citizens to recognize the transformative power of their votes, emphasizing the importance of contributing to India’s journey towards prosperity.
As political rhetoric intensifies ahead of upcoming elections, PM Modi’s criticisms underscore the contentious nature of Indian politics, with each party vying to assert its vision for the nation’s development and progress.
