Srinagar: Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) for Kupwara, Mir Mohammad Fayaz, led a strong protest today at Main Chowk, Kupwara, to condemn the recent terrorist attack on tourists in Pahalgam.
Addressing the gathering, Mir Fayaz said, “This attack is not just against individuals; it is an attack against humanity. We want to send a clear message to Pakistan: stop the killing of innocent people in Kashmir.”
He emphasized that Kashmir is currently witnessing growth, particularly in the tourism sector, and such acts of violence are attempts to derail the region’s peaceful progress. “Pakistan is unhappy with the positive developments in Kashmir, especially the rise in tourism, and is trying to disrupt the peace,” he added.
The protest saw participation from local citizens, political workers, and civil society members, all united in their demand for an end to cross-border terrorism and justice for the victims.
