Srinagar: A peaceful candlelight march was organized at Handwara Chowk this evening by renowned social and peace activist Dr. Sheikh Jamsheed, along with local youth leader War Towseef. The event aimed to protest the recent terrorist attack on tourists in Pahalgam and to express solidarity with the victims.
Participants gathered to strongly condemn the cowardly act of violence, which they attributed to Pakistan-based terrorist groups. They emphasized that such attacks are a deliberate attempt by Pakistan to destabilize the region and hinder Kashmir’s progress, particularly in the fields of development and tourism.
Speaking at the event, Dr. Jamsheed stated, “We stand united in our condemnation of terrorism. Kashmiris reject violence in all its forms and support peace and prosperity for our land.”
The organizers called for justice for the victims and urged authorities to take stringent action against those responsible. The march served as a powerful message that the people of Kashmir will not be intimidated by acts of terror and remain committed to peace.-
