This was even as proportionally less number of girls appeared for the exams. As against the 7, 78, 168 boys who appeared for the exams, only 6, 35, 519 girls appeared for the Class XII board exams. Students of Science stream scored remarkably well (96.93%) as compared to the Commerce (91.27%) and Arts students (82.63%). The handicapped students too did well with a pass percentage of over 93.57%.

The repeater students though put up a disappointing fare with just 39.03% of the 33,703 students passing out of the total 86,341 repeater students. Though the nationwide Covid-19 lockdown did not affect the exams schedule, the assessments got delayed due to it. The Maharashtra State Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (MSSHSEB) claimed that compared to the challenges faced by them to ensure the assessments by teachers right through the lockdown, the results have been brought out quite early. The HSC results generally are declared in the beginning of June.

The board stated that re-evaluations and reassessments would be expedited for students appearing for the JEE entrance exams. Such students would need to upload the hall tickets for the entrance exams as also remarks of their subject teachers along with applications for online verification of marks or to seek copies of answer sheets.
