Jaipur: In a chilling crime reminiscent of the recent Meerut murder case, a woman in Jaipur allegedly killed her husband with the help of her lover and attempted to dispose of his body. The accused, 42-year-old Gopali Devi, and her lover, Deendayal Kushwaha, were caught on CCTV carrying the victim’s body on a bike before setting it on fire in a forest.

The victim, Dhanna Lal Saini, a vegetable seller, had suspected his wife of having an affair with Kushwaha for the past five years. On March 15, he visited Kushwaha’s shop, ‘Shyam Fashion,’ where he reportedly caught his wife with her lover. The confrontation turned fatal when the accused took Saini to the top floor of the shop, hit him with an iron rod, and then strangled him with a rope.

In a desperate attempt to destroy evidence, the duo stuffed Saini’s body in a plastic sack, transported it on a bike, and burned it near Bhairuji temple on Ring Road. The horrifying act was captured on CCTV, leading to their swift arrest.

On March 16, police recovered Saini’s half-burnt body and launched an investigation. During interrogation, Devi confessed to the crime. The case has drawn stark parallels to the recent murder of merchant navy officer Saurabh Rajput in Meerut, allegedly killed by his wife and her lover.
