Lucknow: A heartbreaking incident has shaken Lucknow as two children lost their lives and 16 others remain hospitalized after consuming food at the Government Balgir Nirman Nirvana Institute. According to officials, the children began experiencing vomiting and severe stomach pain after eating Khichdi and curd, raising serious concerns about food safety and negligence at the institution.

At the time of the incident, 146 children were present at the orphanage, and panic spread as many started falling ill. An employee of the institute confirmed that the affected children were immediately rushed to the hospital, where two tragically succumbed, while others are currently stable but under medical supervision.

Preliminary reports suggest negligence on the part of the orphanage, with officials suspecting that contaminated or improperly stored food may have led to the outbreak. The Lucknow District Magistrate has ordered a high-level probe, forming a special committee to determine the cause of the alleged food poisoning.

Officials from the Health and Food Safety Departments have already visited the hospital, interviewing the affected children and collecting food samples for testing. Authorities have assured that strict action will be taken against those responsible for this tragic incident.
