Mumbai: Bollywood superstar Salman Khan has finally addressed the multiple death threats he has received from gangster Lawrence Bishnoi and his gang. Speaking at a press conference in Mumbai, the actor made it clear that he is not afraid, placing his faith in God and destiny.
“Bhagwan, Allah sab unpar hai. Jitni umar likhi hai, utni likhi hai. Bas yahi hai” (God and Allah are watching over. Whatever lifespan is written, that’s how long it is. That’s it), Salman said, showing his calm and composed attitude despite the threats.
The 59-year-old actor has been under high security ever since shots were fired outside his Bandra residence last year. His home Galaxy Apartments now features a bulletproof glass panel, and he moves around with a heavily armed security team.
While Salman has accepted the security measures as necessary, he admitted that the constant presence of security personnel can be overwhelming. “Kabhi kabhi itne logon ko saath mein leke chalna padta hai, bas wohi problem ho jaati hai” (Sometimes, having to lead so many people together becomes the only problem), he remarked.
The threats have significantly affected his lifestyle, restricting his movement. Speaking about his daily routine, Salman said, “I am not worried when I am with the press, but when I am without the press, that cramps my style. Now it’s all about Galaxy (home) to shoot and from shoot to Galaxy (home), nothing else.”
The Bishnoi gang has targeted Salman Khan over his involvement in the 1998 blackbuck poaching case, as the animal is sacred to the Bishnoi community.
Despite these challenges, Salman remains focused on his career. He is currently gearing up for the release of his much-anticipated mass-action film ‘Sikandar’, directed by AR Murugadoss. The director recently revealed the difficulty of handling 10,000 to 20,000 people on set, managing crowd control while ensuring Salman’s safety.
