Mumbai: After the successful Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam Ki Oar 3.0 conclave in Ahmedabad, His Holiness, the 79th Spiritual Sovereign, Jainacharya Yugbhushansuriji, has arrived in Mumbai, where Jyot has embarked on an ambitious educational drive. This initiative aims to instill the values of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam in students across Mumbai’s premier colleges by sharing insights from previous conclaves. The ultimate objective is to enhance India’s soft power by preserving and promoting ancient Indian cultural wisdom, extending its philosophy to shape a just, fair, and inclusive global order. All activities of Jyot are guided and blessed by Spiritual Sovereign Munipravar Shri Mohjit Vijayji, the 78th successor to Tirthankar Shri Mahavir.
Expanding the Reach of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam
The educational drive commenced with a two-day event at Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) on ‘The Root Cause of Discrimination in the Current World Order’. This discussion continued on March 11 in collaboration with Mumbai University (which has 781 affiliated colleges) and Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan’s Hazarimal Somani College of Arts, Commerce, and Science at Makichan Hall, with a special focus on the Indian Knowledge System’s perspective.
On March 7, a legal symposium was organized in partnership with K.C. Law College, examining ‘The Basic Structure Doctrine in the Contemporary Era’. Following these events, a two-day exhibition-cum-session at Somaiya Vidyavihar University, Mumbai, on ‘Freedom of Speech – Ancient vs. Modern’ is scheduled for March 18 and 19. This highly anticipated event is expected to attract 450 college students and will be graced by retired Supreme Court Judge Justice B. N. Srikrishna.

The events have witnessed an overwhelming response from students, faculty, and eminent personalities from various fields. Notable attendees include:

Key Takeaways from His Holiness’ Discourses
At Bhavan’s College, His Holiness critiqued global discrimination, stating that its root cause lies in white supremacy, which is systematically embedded in multilateral institutions, trade policies, and the dominance of the USD as the global reserve currency. He highlighted the hypocrisy of Trump’s immigration policies, pointing out that European settlers themselves were illegal migrants who imposed sovereignty through the Doctrine of Discovery and Terra Nullius. His Holiness emphasized that discrimination still persists in modern geopolitics, and the ancient Indian principle of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam offers a transformative solution.
At K.C. Law College, he addressed the fallacy of absolute parliamentary sovereignty, arguing that ancient Indian scriptures denounced absolute power and never practiced it. His insights provided a fresh perspective on contemporary constitutional debates.
Exclusive Exhibition Showcasing Ancient Wisdom and Modern Governance
Complementing the conference, Jyot curated an exclusive exhibition presenting Jainacharya Yugbhushansuriji’s insights into pressing global issues. A key highlight was the concept of absolute sovereignty merging temporal and spiritual power, identified as a root cause of modern global instability—a theory first introduced at the third edition of the conclave last year.
The exhibition was meticulously curated by Adv. Rajan Jaykar, renowned for setting up the Bombay High Court Museum, which was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in 2015. This interactive space provided an opportunity for scholars, journalists, and policymakers to engage with ancient wisdom as a guiding force for modern governance.
Upcoming Event at Somaiya College & Future Plans
With great anticipation, students at Somaiya Vidyavihar University are eagerly awaiting the March 18-19 session, where His Holiness will explore the ancient perspectives on one of the most debated topics of the modern world—Freedom of Speech and Expression.
Looking ahead, Jyot is actively planning the fourth edition of the flagship conclave series, ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam Ki Oar,’ scheduled for January 2026.
Through these initiatives, Jyot is bridging the gap between ancient Indian philosophy and contemporary global challenges, reaffirming India’s role as a spiritual and intellectual leader on the world stage.
