Srinagar: In a major political shift in Jammu and Kashmir, two factions linked to the Hurriyat Conference—J&K Tahreeqi Isteqlal and J&K Tahreek-I-Istiqamat—have officially renounced separatism and expressed confidence in the vision of a “New Bharat” under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The move marks another setback for the separatist movement in the region, as more groups align with mainstream political aspirations. The two organizations announced their decision to abandon separatist ideology and work towards peace, stability, and development in the Union Territory.
