In a highly coordinated effort, the Indian Army and Jammu and Kashmir Police launched a joint operation on 6th August 2023 in the general area of Amrohi Village, Tangdhar Sector, Kupwara. The operation was based on credible intelligence inputs of potential infiltration activities from terrorist elements.
Acting swiftly on the gathered information, the alert security forces were able to thwart the infiltration attempt during the early hours of the morning. The operation resulted in the neutralization of one terrorist and the recovery of a substantial quantity of warlike stores, including an AK Rifle and six pistols. Furthermore, Pakistan currency notes were also seized, exposing the evil nexus of terrorist organizations and their associates operating from across the border.
This successful operation once again highlights the persistent efforts of terrorist groups based in Pakistan to disrupt peace and tranquillity in the Kashmir valley. However, the unwavering determination and vigilance of the Indian Army and other security agencies have proven instrumental in countering such nefarious designs.
The safety and security of the citizens in Kashmir remain a top priority for the Indian forces, who stand combat-ready to thwart any attempts to destabilize the region. The operation serves as a testament to the continued commitment of the security forces in safeguarding the nation’s borders and preserving peace in the troubled region.
