Indian Army celebrated National Tourism Day at Handwara with aim to promote Tourism in Rajwar area

Srinagar: As part of Republic Day celebrations, National Tourism Day was organised by the Handwara Army Camp at TRC, Handwara. National Tourism Day is observed every year to encourage tourism and explain the essential role of tourism in the growth of the country. 

The event was graced by DDC chairperson Irfan Pandithpuri, DDC Rajwar, Suleiman Mir and Chairman Municipal Corporation, Handwara Masroor Ahmad Banday.

The event started with a welcome speech by DDC Chairperson Irfan Pandithpuri followed by panel discussion on various themes like Bangus a game changer for the people of Rajwar in coming years, Improvement of tourism in the valley, social media influence on tourism, government policies in improving tourism and acquiring new concepts like Bed and Breakfast. 

A total of 54 locals attended the event and had a fruitful discussion which would help in improving tourism, ultimately leading to providing employment to local youth and further improving the livelihoods of the locals. 

At the end DDC Chairperson Irfan Pandithpuri assured the audience, funds will be allotted in improving the tourism at Bangus at the earliest.
