In a significant community outreach initiative on the occasion of Independence Day, the Indian Army organised a series of medical outreach camps in remote and underserved villages of Boniyar in Baramulla district.
The camps were conducted at Gagar Hill, Tilpatra Bahek, Korali, Jabri and Chotali, providing residents with access to essential healthcare services closer to their homes.
Medical Services Provided to Villagers
Army medical teams conducted medical consultations, basic health screenings and treatment for common ailments during the camps. Essential medicines were also distributed among residents.
The outreach programme placed particular emphasis on preventive healthcare and health awareness. Villagers were educated about personal hygiene, nutrition, sanitation and the importance of seeking timely medical attention.
Focus on Healthcare in Remote Areas
The initiative was aimed at improving access to basic healthcare for communities living in remote areas where medical facilities may not always be easily accessible.
The Army’s outreach efforts also sought to strengthen its relationship with the local population through direct community engagement and welfare activities.

Conducted as part of the Independence Day outreach, the initiative reflected the Indian Army’s ethos of “Service Before Self” and its continued commitment to the welfare and well-being of people in the region.
Such programmes also play a role in strengthening civil-military cooperation, public goodwill and community engagement in remote areas of North Kashmir.
