Iftar party organised for residents and media persons at Army Camp, Gujjarpatti, Lolab valley, district Kupwara

Srinagar: On the festive occasion of Ramadan, Indian Army Camp Gujjarpatti organised an Iftar Party for select residents of Lolab Valley and Media persons on April 23. Around 65 residents including media persons participated.

The Iftar party was organised with an aim to build and enhance a strong bonding between the Indian Army and its citizen’s and to win their confidence. It is also an initiative to spread a positive message in the environment.

During the iftar party discussions over traditions and ways of the locals during the festival, general wellbeing, movement of Gujjars and Bakarwals in the upper ridges, and the pulse of the general public in the environment were discussed. The event started with serving of light snacks so that practitioners could break their fast, followed by offering special namaz to the almighty. The special namaz was offered under a Moulvi with practitioners following the Moulvis instructions.

Thereafter, the practitioners were served with the delicacies specially prepared for the occasion which concluded with the opening of Roza followed by the appetizing meal and reading of Namaz. 

In the end, the residents conveyed their thanks and gratitude to the Indian Army for organising such an event and making the Ramadan festival a big success.
