Patna: With the Bihar Assembly elections just days away, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has made an emotional pitch to voters, urging them to grant the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) another term to continue the state’s development journey.

In a video message shared by the Janata Dal (United) on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), Kumar appealed to citizens to back NDA candidates in the upcoming two-phase polls scheduled for November 6 and 11, with results to be declared on November 14.

“I request you to make the NDA candidates victorious in this election. Give us one more chance, and Bihar will be developed so much that it will be counted among the top states,” Kumar said in his address.

Highlighting his government’s progress, Kumar asserted that Bihar’s pace of development had accelerated significantly under NDA rule. He contrasted the present with the state’s condition prior to 2005, taking a veiled jab at the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) without naming it. “When I took charge in 2005, the condition of Bihar was extremely poor. Back then, being called a Bihari was considered an insult. But today, being a Bihari is a matter of pride,” he said.

The Chief Minister outlined his government’s work across sectors, including education, health, infrastructure, and employment generation, noting that every social group—Dalits, backward classes, and women—had benefitted from policy initiatives.

Kumar also underlined the empowerment of women through various schemes. “The previous government ignored women’s issues. We made them self-reliant so they could take care of their families and contribute equally to the state’s progress,” he said.
