New Delhi: In a sharp response to Congress leader Ashok Gehlot’s comments labeling the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) as the “opposition” in Delhi, Delhi Chief Minister and AAP national convenor Arvind Kejriwal on Wednesday accused Gehlot of inadvertently revealing a secret alliance between the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Congress.
Kejriwal took to social media to fire back at the former Rajasthan Chief Minister, who had stated that AAP was the opposition to Congress at the grand old party’s election event in Delhi. In his post on X, Kejriwal pointed out that while Gehlot had criticized AAP, he had remained silent about BJP’s role. “Shri Gehlot ji. You made it clear that AAP is the opposition to Congress in Delhi. You remained silent on BJP. People also felt that AAP is the opposition for Congress and BJP is its partner. People also believed that BJP and Congress are fighting the elections together against AAP. Till now this cooperation between you two was secret. Today you have made it public. Thank you on behalf of the people of Delhi for this clarification,” Kejriwal said.
The Delhi elections are heating up as the political stakes get higher, with the BJP, Congress, and AAP all preparing for a fierce battle for the capital. Kejriwal’s remarks suggest that he believes the Congress and BJP are colluding against his party, undermining the opposition’s chances of securing a stronghold in the city.
