Srinagar: Kashmir Servers Foundation (KSF) held a day long symposium on the topic – ‘Westernisation: A bane or bone to the society’ at Town hall Handwara. Students from Arise coaching academy, Akash academy and other institutions participated in this symposium.

The Symposium was attended and chaired by tehsildar Handwara, and other dignitaries. Each participant spoke on culture and its importance and at the end trophies were distributed among the winners. On this occasion tehsildar Handwara lauded the role of Kashmir Servers Foundation and exchanged his thoughts.

Pakeeza Qureshi, a student participant while speaking said, India has a beautiful culture and we call it Indian culture.  Speakers while speaking said that there is no harm in taking good things and gaining knowledge about other cultures and traditions.  No doubt Western culture is versatile and has taught us to be self-dependent but that does not mean we should forget our culture completely.

Other speakers who spoke were Fareeda, a known social activist, who spoke about Kashmiriyat and adopting Kashmiri culture at home and in other activities. Founders of KSF, Refat Wani and Dar Javed spoke about the importance of culture. At the end winners of first, second and third position holders were awarded by chief guest.
