New Delhi: Union Minister Chirag Paswan announced on Tuesday that his party, the Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas), intends to contest the upcoming Delhi assembly elections scheduled for next month. Paswan confirmed that LJP (Ram Vilas) would field candidates on select seats in the national capital, aiming to bolster the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA).

Speaking to the media, Chirag Paswan emphasized that LJP’s strategy would focus on strengthening the NDA rather than seeking to increase its own seat count. He clarified that his party would only contest in constituencies where it has a significant presence and the chance of securing a victory, which would ultimately benefit the alliance.

“LJP’s (Ram Vilas) policy is to strengthen the NDA, and we will contest only in those constituencies where our chances of victory are strong,” said Paswan. He highlighted that, like in Jharkhand, winnability would be prioritized over the number of seats contested. “We will not compromise on our strike rate by contesting additional seats. Our goal is to contest where we have a genuine chance to win,” he added.
