New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Atishi has been booked by Delhi Police for violating the Model Code of Conduct in the run-up to the Delhi Legislative Assembly elections. An offence has been registered under Section 223(a) of the BNS for the alleged misuse of a government vehicle for political purposes.

As per ANI reports, the FIR was lodged following allegations that Atishi used a government vehicle to promote her political campaign, which is against the guidelines set by the Election Commission during the election period.

With the Delhi elections scheduled for February 5, the Model Code of Conduct is in place to ensure a fair and transparent electoral process. The police have taken swift action based on the violation, raising questions about adherence to these rules.

In response to the development, Delhi’s former chief minister and AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal criticized the incident. Taking to the social media platform X (formerly Twitter), Kejriwal accused the ruling party of targeting AAP leaders unfairly, pointing out that no action had been taken against BJP leaders who were allegedly involved in distributing money and manipulating voter lists.
