New Delhi: Union Home Minister Amit Shah lauded the Border Security Force (BSF) on Friday for its exceptional service in guarding India’s two most challenging international borders—Bangladesh and Pakistan—while addressing the BSF Investiture Ceremony.

“When it was decided that one force will provide security on one border, BSF was given the responsibility of guarding the two most difficult borders—Bangladesh and Pakistan—and given your capabilities, you have secured it very well,” Shah said, acknowledging the force’s exemplary commitment and strategic discipline in tackling diverse border threats.

The Home Minister praised the BSF’s unwavering vigilance and professionalism, especially in hostile terrains, including desert stretches in the west and densely populated riverine belts in the east. “Whether it’s cross-border infiltration, smuggling, or maintaining peace in border villages, the BSF has always lived up to the nation’s expectations,” he remarked.

He also highlighted BSF’s modernization drive and adaptive border management, which has helped thwart numerous infiltration attempts and ensured better coordination with local law enforcement and international counterparts.

Shah reiterated the central government’s commitment to upgrading BSF infrastructure, welfare measures, and operational capacity. “We owe our peace to your sacrifice, and the nation stands firmly with you,” he said.
