Bengaluru: Union Minister and former Karnataka Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy has come out strongly against the Congress party, accusing it of triggering the recent Enforcement Directorate (ED) raids in Karnataka through internal betrayal rather than any misuse of central agencies by the Union government.

“In the last two days, in Karnataka, the Enforcement Directorate raided the current Home Minister’s institutions and several other locations,” Kumaraswamy said while addressing reporters. “Several Congress ministers are now attacking the Central Government, claiming it is misusing the powers of ED and Income Tax to target some ministers and influential leaders in the state,” he added.

However, Kumaraswamy squarely laid the blame at the feet of Congress itself, alleging that a senior Congress minister was the source of the tip-off. “In the Congress cabinet itself, one powerful minister gave the information to the concerned authorities — that one woman was bringing some gold from Dubai. Why is our Karnataka Home Minister in trouble? He is facing these problems due to his Congress friends only,” he said.

The Union Minister dismissed allegations of vendetta politics by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led Centre, calling the Congress’s accusations baseless. “Unnecessarily, Congress ministers and leaders are attacking the Central Government. The truth is, it’s their own party that is responsible for this entire development,” Kumaraswamy asserted.
