Moscow: In a major diplomatic outreach, India’s all-party parliamentary delegation, led by DMK MP Kanimozhi, landed in Moscow on Thursday as part of a broader international mission to expose Pakistan’s alleged role in promoting terrorism. The visit comes in the aftermath of the Pahalgam terror attack and Operation Sindoor, with the government reaffirming its ‘zero tolerance’ policy towards terrorism.

The eight-member delegation includes Rajeev Rai (SP), Mian Altaf Ahmad (NC), Captain Brijesh Chowta (BJP), Ashok Kumar Mittal (AAP), Ambassador Manjeev S Puri, and Ambassador Jawed Ashraf. Their itinerary spans five countries—Russia, Slovenia, Greece, Latvia, and Spain—as part of India’s global campaign to isolate Pakistan diplomatically.

Speaking to the media upon arrival in Moscow, SP MP Rajeev Rai asserted, “Russia is our historic friend, who stood with us during all tough situations. Pakistan has become a danger not just to India but to the whole world. We have come to a special friend like Russia with all these issues and evidence to explain that it is important for everyone to isolate Pakistan.”

Echoing similar sentiments, DMK MP Kanimozhi emphasized the strategic significance of India-Russia ties and the importance of the visit. “We have full faith in Russia as a strategic partner. Our delegation will meet Andre Denison, First Deputy Chair of the Committee on International Affairs, Leonid Slutsky, the Chair of the State Duma Committee, Russia’s Deputy Foreign Minister, and former Prime Minister Mikhail Fradkov, who now heads the Russian Institute for Statistical Studies.”

Kanimozhi added that interactions with Russian think tanks and media outlets will also be held to convey India’s position and evidence of Pakistan’s “continued support to cross-border terrorism.”

India’s diplomatic offensive doesn’t stop at Moscow. A parallel delegation led by Shiv Sena MP Dr. Shrikant Shinde visited the UAE, comprising leaders like BJP’s Bansuri Swaraj, ET Mohmd Basheer, Atul Garg, and Surendrajeet Singh Ahluwalia, as well as former Ambassador Sujan Chinoy.

In Japan, JD(U)’s Sanjay Kumar Jha is heading another delegation that includes BJP MPs Aparajita Sarangi, Brijlal, Pradhan Barua and Hemang Joshi, along with Congress veteran Salman Khurshid, TMC’s Abhishek Banerjee, CPI(M)’s John Brittas, and diplomat Mohan Kumar.
