In a strategic move by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), preparations for a contingency plan in Amravati have been set in motion well in advance of the verdict in MP Navneet Rana’s caste certificate case. With uncertainties looming over Rane’s candidature, the BJP is actively exploring alternative candidates to secure their position in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

The verdict on Navneet Rana’s alleged fake caste certificate is anticipated to be delivered on April 1, significantly ahead of the official announcement of the electoral code of conduct. Speculations suggest that Rana’s candidacy might hang in the balance pending the court’s decision, prompting the BJP to swiftly devise a backup strategy.

Amidst these developments, the state’s attention is fixated on the impending verdict and its potential ramifications for Rane’s political future.

Scheduled for April 1, the verdict on Navneet Rane’s caste certificate is poised to influence political dynamics in Amravati. Reports indicate that should the verdict go against Rane, Mahayuti, the BJP-led alliance, is poised to announce an alternative candidate on April 2. Reliable sources suggest that Rane may file his nomination for the Lok Sabha elections on April 4, depending on the court’s decision.

The outcome of Rana’s case holds significant implications, with many closely monitoring whether he will receive relief or face repercussions.

In anticipation of a potential setback for Rana, BJP’s plan B entails considering alternative candidates to safeguard their electoral prospects. Notable figures like renowned Amravati businessman Kalpana Saroj, hailing from Akola district, and Digwant Res have emerged as potential contenders. Additionally, the names of Kirti Gavai, daughter of Gavai, and a former IAS officer are also under deliberation.

Furthermore, sources have confirmed that the Amravati Lok Sabha seat will be allocated to the Yuva Swabhiman Party as part of the coalition. This decision all but ensures that current MP Navneet Rana will contest the 2024 Lok Sabha elections under the Yuva Swabhiman Party banner. Despite speculations of Rana’s potential affiliation with the BJP, the decision underscores the party’s commitment to its coalition partners.

Allegations against Navneet Rana stem from accusations of providing a fake school leaving certificate for obtaining a caste certificate. It is alleged that Rana’s father obtained the certificate through fraudulent means, leading to a complaint filed at the Mulund police station and subsequent legal proceedings against Rana and his father.
