The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) made waves on Sunday as it revealed its fifth list of candidates for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, introducing a lineup of notable figures set to contest from various constituencies across India. Among the high-profile names announced were actress Kangana Ranaut, vying for the Mandi seat in Himachal Pradesh, and veteran actor Arun Govil, renowned for his portrayal of Lord Ram in Ramanand Sagar’s ‘Ramayan,’ who will contest from Uttar Pradesh’s Meerut.

The unveiling of the fourth list, comprising 15 candidates, took place earlier on Friday, with a focus on constituencies in Puducherry and Tamil Nadu. Notable mentions included A Namassivayam from Puducherry, actor-politician Raadhika Sarathkumar from Virudhnagar, and P Karthiyayini from Chidambaram, among others.

The third list, released on March 21, showcased the BJP’s nomination of former Telangana Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan for the Chennai South constituency, alongside prominent personalities like L Murugan and K Annamalai.

These announcements come in the wake of the party’s initial list of 195 candidates on March 2, which notably featured Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s candidacy from Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh. The subsequent release of the second list on March 13 included 75 candidates, among whom were 11 Union Ministers.

The BJP’s electoral strategy spans across various states, with candidates announced for constituencies in Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Kerala, Telangana, Assam, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Delhi, Jammu and Kashmir, Uttarakhand, Arunachal Pradesh, Goa, Tripura, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, and Daman and Diu.

With the inclusion of prominent figures from diverse fields like entertainment and politics, the BJP aims to bolster its electoral prospects and present a formidable lineup for the Lok Sabha elections, signaling a dynamic and strategic approach to the electoral contest.

As the election fervor intensifies, all eyes are on the BJP’s star-studded roster and its potential impact on the political landscape of India.
