75,000 jobs when compared to the unemployment number of the country is just a drop in the ocean. The mega recruitment drive of 72,000 posts announced by Devendra Fadnavis is still only on paper.

Mumbai: The Modi government at the centre is making a big noise about giving the appointment letters for 75,000 posts to the candidates. But the examinations for many of these posts were held two and a half years ago and appointments were kept pending, remarked Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC), Chief Spokesperson, Atul Londhe on Saturday. He added that the BJP and Narendra Modi have been reminded of the youth and are organising the Rojgar Mela only because there are elections scheduled in Himachal Pradesh and Gujarat.

Commenting over the Modi government’s mega job drive, the MPCC chief spokesperson said that no one can beat the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis in organizing mega events. It has been a year and a half since the examinations of various boards including Staff Selection, Railway Recruitment Board (RRB), were held, but the results of the examinations conducted by various examination boards were stopped so that the Prime Minister could convert them into a Diwali event.

Elections have been announced in Himachal Pradesh and Gujarat elections are also around the corner. Keeping these elections in mind, the BJP has started issuing appointment letters. About 22 crore youths have registered for jobs and employment on the Shram portal out of which only 7 lakhs have got jobs. According to the Centre for Monitoring Indian Economy (CMIE) 45 crore people have given up hope regarding job prospects, stated Londhe.

While 25 lakh posts of central government employees are vacant. Considering the available jobs, the number of job seekers and the high unemployment rate, 75,000 jobs is just a drop in the ocean.

In Maharashtra, Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis also announced mega recruitment on 72,000 posts when he was the Chief Minister but in reality, he could not give jobs to even 72 people. He didn’t recruit employees, he recruited MLAs, MPs from other parties to BJP. Londhe said that Modi and Fadnavis continue to fool the people with their promises, he added.
