The two-day 7th District Kupwara Yogasana Sports Championship 2026–27 concluded today at the Indoor Sports Stadium in Handwara, with more than 400 students from schools across Kupwara district participating in the event.
The championship was organised by the District Kupwara Yogasana Sports Association (DKYSA) in association with Yogasana Bharat and sponsored by the Jammu & Kashmir Sports Council.
Deputy Commissioner Kupwara Shrikant Balasahab Suse graced the occasion as the Chief Guest, while SSP Handwara Sahir Sarangal attended the event. ASP Handwara, SDPO Handwara and SHO Handwara were also present.
The guests appreciated the enthusiasm, dedication and discipline displayed by the young participants. They highlighted the importance of Yogasana in promoting physical fitness, mental well-being, concentration and a healthy lifestyle among students.
The officials also praised DKYSA for providing a platform for young athletes to showcase their talent. They encouraged the participants to continue working hard and aim for higher levels of competition.
Organising Secretary War Shahbaz expressed gratitude to the administration, police department, J&K Sports Council, participating schools, students, coaches, parents and the media for their support in making the two-day championship a success.
The championship concluded with a strong message of fitness, discipline, sportsmanship and healthy living among the youth of Kupwara district.
