Mumbai: The city witnessed yet another spell of rain on Monday as showers continued to drench several parts of South Mumbai, disrupting normal life. According to the Regional Meteorological Center (RMC), a yellow alert has been issued for Mumbai, Thane, and Palghar districts, warning residents of light to moderate rainfall accompanied by thunder and gusty winds reaching speeds of 30–40 kmph at isolated places.
Commuters faced delays on key routes as traffic slowed down due to waterlogging in low-lying areas. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) also cautioned against possible disruptions in power supply and advised citizens to stay indoors during thunderstorm activity.
Several Mumbaikars took to social media platform X (formerly Twitter) to share real-time updates and visuals of the downpour. One user posted about a power outage in the Fort area, highlighting the impact of the sudden showers on city infrastructure.
