Patna: The Mahagathbandhan (Grand Alliance), led by the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and Congress, released its much-awaited election manifesto titled ‘Bihar Ka Tejashwi Pran’ on Tuesday, marking a key moment in the run-up to the 2025 Bihar Assembly elections.
At the launch event, RJD leader and Mahagathbandhan’s Chief Ministerial candidate Tejashwi Yadav was joined by Vikassheel Insaan Party (VIP) chief and Deputy CM nominee Mukesh Sahani, Congress leader Pawan Khera, and CPI(ML) general secretary Dipankar Bhattacharya.
Describing the manifesto as a “vision document for Bihar’s future,” Pawan Khera said, “The Mahagathbandhan was the first to announce its Chief Ministerial candidate and the first to release its manifesto. Theirs is a ‘jumla’, while this is our ‘pran’ (resolve). This shows who is serious about Bihar. We decided from day one what we would do for the state. Bihar was waiting for this ‘pran’,” Khera said, taking a sharp dig at the ruling NDA.
The manifesto, sources said, focuses on employment generation, education, healthcare, social welfare, and reviving Bihar’s economy through progressive governance. It promises transparent administration, empowerment of youth and women, and rural development initiatives designed to make Bihar a leading state in eastern India.
Earlier in the day, Tejashwi Yadav dared the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) to reveal its Chief Ministerial face and share its vision for Bihar’s future. “We have given a roadmap and a vision to make Bihar number one. What is their vision? What are their schemes? All they do is speak negatively and make allegations against our leaders,” Tejashwi said.
The 2025 Bihar Assembly elections are shaping up to be a high-stakes contest between the ruling NDA—comprising the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Janata Dal (United), Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas), Hindustani Awam Morcha (Secular), and Rashtriya Lok Morcha—and the opposition Mahagathbandhan, led by RJD, Congress, CPI(ML), and VIP.
