“I Am a Born Congressman… I Know How RSS Is Building Institutions,” Says Dy CM DK Shivakumar on Karnataka Assembly Anthem

Bengaluru: Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar on Thursday addressed queries regarding the recital of the RSS anthem in the Karnataka Assembly yesterday, asserting that there was no political motive behind it.

Speaking to reporters, Shivakumar said, “I am a born Congressman. I have done research on all political parties. I know how the RSS is building institutions in Karnataka—they are acquiring schools in every district and trying to preach to children. As a leader, I should know who my opponents are and who my friends are. I just try to learn about the RSS and its history. Politically, we have a lot of differences, but the BJP should know I know them deeply.”

The Deputy CM’s remarks highlight his approach to understanding political opponents while emphasizing that his actions are rooted in awareness rather than endorsement. Political analysts note that this statement comes amid growing tensions between the Congress and BJP in Karnataka, reflecting the strategic scrutiny of RSS activities in the state.
