Mumbai: Kokilaben Ambani, the 91-year-old matriarch of the Ambani family and widow of Reliance founder Dhirubhai Ambani, was airlifted to HN Reliance Hospital in South Mumbai on Friday morning, according to reports. The exact details of her medical condition have not been disclosed, but her advanced age has raised concern among family and well-wishers.

A video circulating online showed the Ambani family convoy arriving at the hospital, drawing public attention and concern over Kokilaben’s health. The family has yet to release an official statement regarding her condition.

Born on February 24, 1934, in Jamnagar, Gujarat, Kokilaben Ambani has long been regarded as the guiding force behind the Ambani family. As the mother of industrialists Mukesh and Anil Ambani, as well as Nina Kothari and Dipti Salgaocar, she has played a pivotal role in nurturing and uniting one of India’s most influential business families. Known for her simplicity, strict vegetarianism, and devotion to Shrinathji, she continues to appear at family and public events despite her age, symbolizing strength and continuity.

Kokilaben’s contributions extend beyond the family sphere. She has been a moral compass for the Ambani household, ensuring values and traditions were upheld while supporting her husband in building the Reliance empire.
