Patna: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Thursday announced a series of significant welfare and employment initiatives aimed at improving the lives of the state’s residents.
Speaking at a public event, CM Kumar said, “Pension for elderly citizens, persons with disabilities, and widows has been increased from ₹400 to ₹1,100. A total of 1.12 crore people will benefit from this measure. Free domestic electricity will be provided to everyone.”
He also highlighted the state’s efforts in generating employment, stating, “39 lakh people have already been given employment. Employment opportunities will further increase. In the coming five years, 1 crore youth will be provided jobs. New industries will be set up with all kinds of help from the Centre.”
