Srinagar: In an effort to strengthen public outreach, the Jammu and Kashmir Police (J&KP) organized the ‘Thana Diwas’ programme across all police stations and police posts in the Police District (PD) Handwara.
The event was chaired by the respective jurisdictional police officers, who engaged with the local population, listening attentively to their grievances. The officers assured the public that all genuine issues related to the police would be resolved promptly, while matters requiring the attention of higher authorities or the civil administration would be forwarded for early redressal.
During the interaction, residents were urged to cooperate with the local police in maintaining law and order and to assist in identifying anti-national and anti-social elements, particularly those involved in narcotics smuggling, to ensure they are brought to justice.
The initiative received widespread appreciation from the people of Handwara, who lauded the efforts of the Handwara police in organizing such programmes. They highlighted how these events provide an effective platform for addressing grievances and strengthening ties between the police and the community.
