In response to these allegations, state Home Minister and Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis strongly defended the government, stating that such claims were being made “out of frustration.” Fadnavis assured the public that strict actions would be taken against anyone involved in the drug trade, including immediate dismissal from service for any police officers implicated.
Fadnavis explained that celebrities from various fields frequently visit Varsha, the Chief Minister’s residence, during the Ganpati festival, emphasizing that Elvish Yadav was merely a celebrity at the time of his visit and not a defendant in any criminal case. He cautioned against targeting political leaders over such incidents, highlighting the potential consequences for many leaders across Maharashtra if such a precedent were set.
Regarding Raut’s accusations, Fadnavis emphasized the government’s commitment to addressing the issue of drug-related activities and promised that all legal measures against those involved in the drug trade would be explored and strictly enforced.
The controversy continues to escalate, as the state grapples with allegations of drug-related connections between popular figures, politicians, and law enforcement. The public eagerly awaits further developments and official investigations to shed light on the matter.
