Fake certificate case, Crime Branch Kashmir files chargesheet against two persons

Srinagar: The Crime Branch of Jammu and Kashmir Police on Wednesday said that its Economic Offence Wing (EOW) filed chargesheet against two accused in connection with a fake 8th standard certificate.

In a handout issued here, the CBK said that its Economic Offence Wing filed a Charge-Sheet in Case FIR No. 69/2022 U/S 420, 468, 471,120-B RPC of P/S Economic Offence Wing of CBK before the Court of Passenger Tax, Srinagar against Abdul Majeed Zargar, S/o Mohammad Sadeeq Zargar R/o Kaka Road, Habba Kadal, Srinagar and Bashir Ud-Din Dar, S/o Amir Din Dar R/o Nigeen Bagh, Krangshivan Colony, Mohalla Baba Raza, Sopore (deceased).

The spokesman further stated that the instant case had been registered upon a written complaint, wherein it was alleged that some employees of School Education Department, Srinagar have managed to record fake date of birth on their Service Books.

Subsequently an enquiry was ordered to be conducted into the matter which culminated into registration of Case FIR No. 69/2022 of Police Station Economic Offence Wing of Crime Branch Kashmir.

During the investigation, it came to fore that Abdul Majeed Zargar, S/o Mohammad Sadeeq Zargar R/o Kaka Road Habba Kadal Srinagar, Orderly Chief Education Office Srinagar has submitted fake Middle Pass Certificate, accordingly a case FIR No. 69/2022 was registered at P/S Economic Offence Wing of Crime Branch Kashmir and investigation set into motion, he said.

During the course of investigation, the accused Abdul Majeed Zargar was examined, who stated that he had obtained the said 8th Pass School Certificate from a teacher Bashir Ahmad Dar, who was posted in Government High School Bomai Sopore.

The photograph of said late Bashir Ud-Din Dar was shown to the accused Abdul Majeed Zargar S/o Mohammad Sadeeq Zargar R/o Kaka Road Habba Kadal Srinagar in presence of witness, who recognized him and admitted that it is the photograph of teacher Bashir Ahmad who had given him the fake 8th Pass Certificate of Government Boys High School, Bomai, Sopore and the same was produced for the appointment.

Therefore, it is clear that the name of the accused teacher is Bashir Ud-Din not Bashir Ahmad and he had issued/ given the said fake certificate to accused Ab. Majeed Zargar and offences under section 420, 468, 471,120-B RPC have been established, and accordingly Charge Sheet in Case FIR No. 69/2022 produced before the Court of Passenger Tax Srinagar, reads the statement.
